Symposium’s Theme: „Dynamic Textiles: from Local Contexts to Interdisciplinary Experiments“.
Who can participate: professionally established textile, performance artists (dancers, choreographers, musicians, actors, etc.) and other visual artists individually or in groups (up to 3 persons).
Mode of Collaboration: working in mixed groups that include artist from diverse art fields.
Application deadline: 5 May 2014.
How to apply: please send a completed application form (including proposed project to be created during the Symposium) and your portfolio with at least 3 photos of your recent works. Please send the aforementioned documents in Lithuanian or English to raminta.bumbulyte@gmail.com.
Priorities: proposals that would connect the key tags of this project (Renaissance castle, local context, felt technique, ‘performativity’, and dynamics).
Please keep in mind that Panemunė Castle is a temporary project venue, therefore the technical equipment and prop options are very limited. We highly prefer artists who can work on site-specific projects with minimal equipment.
Selection criteria: experience in interdisciplinary projects, proposed project idea, feasibility
What we offer: accommodation (rooms for 2-3 persons; more information available www.medaus-slenis.lt), airport pick-up (for international participants), some felt-related materials (wool, unwoven fabrics, felting and dyeing materials).
The symposium will be filmed and documented as to preserve the record of the events.
