Baltic Dance Platform is organised together by Lithuanian Dance Information Centre, Estonian theatre and contemporary dance platform Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava and Latvian Dance Information Centre. The organizers had previously pointed out that one of the main reasons for such close cooperation was the limited visibility of small countries on the international scene. The aim is to attract more attention from international dance institutions and organizations, to be stronger in a competitive international dance market and to present the Baltic region’s dance spectrum.

Save the Date

New and final dates for Baltic Dance Platform are 19-21th of May, 2022. The second Baltic Dance Platform will be hosted by the Estonian theatre and contemporary dance platform Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava. The event will take place in Tallinn, Estonia.

The Open Call for Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian dance artists will be announced on the 1st of October, 2021. The organizers advise to follow the news on soon to be launched website www.balticdance.org. Artists will be able to apply to these three categories: Performance, Pitch presentation and Workshop. Applications, which are going to be assessed by national and international experts, will have to be submitted until 22nd of November, 2021.

Just like in the first edition of Baltic Dance Platform, all partners promise to put their best effort to attract dance experts from different countries and various dance sectors, organizations, networks and festivals.

Wish to Repeat the Succusses of The First Baltic Dance Platform

The first Baltic Dance Platform took place in Vilnius, Lithuania, June of 2019, attracting 60 experts in the performing arts from 25 countries. And even if most of the time between first and second Platforms were spent in covid lockdowns, all partners from the three Baltic states have continued to work together and collaborate.

“The huge interest in the first Baltic Dance Patform confirmed our idea that by cooperating with each other, we would be more firmly established among the national and regional European dance platforms. This platform is important not only from the perspective of international establishment and dissemination, but also of the networking of the Baltic dance community.
