Join the New Baltic Dance Festival – Turn the City Upside Down

An artist collective coming to New Baltic Dance festival is happy to invite locals to join their performance “Woods” by doing a headstand.

“Woods” is performance full a desire to create roots in the city, created by Clarice Lima (Brazil), Catarina Saraiva (Portugal), Aline Bonamin (Brasil), Nina Fajdiga (Slovenia).

“We want you to join the performance “Woods”, an artistic call for environmental awareness, research that brings together dance, live performance and visual arts to create unique and powerful landscapes in the cities, pursuing the idea of impermanence and instability of the body, nature, climate and collective practices.” – says the creators.

While upside down, the body inverts space and questions time. For how long can the body resist? For how long can the forest resist? There are the questions the authors of “Woods” will try to answer together with the participants from Lithuania.

Performance will take place in Vilnius, on 7-8 May (twice a day, 1 pm and 5 pm).

Preparation: for 4-5 days before the performance, creators of the piece will lead preparation workshops for local participants (4 hours a day)

Reward for the participants: free pass to all the upcoming shows of New Baltic Dance
