In 2024, Lithuanian Dance Information Centre, Latvian Dance Information Centre and Estonian contemporary dance platform “Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava” will introduce Baltic dance art at the main dance biennale “internationale tanzmesse nrw“ (Germany) with an exhibition area “BALTIC DANCE”.
Tanzmesse is organised by nrw landesbuero tanz and is the largest professional meeting for contemporary dance. As a forum for exchange, knowledge transfer and networking, Tanzmesse is an important meeting place for international dance community.
Do you want to be part of the Tanzmesse Performance Programme 2024?
Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian artists/companies have a possibility to submit a proposal (via “BALTIC DANCE” or via other exhibition area) and apply to be a part of the official Tanzmesse Performance Programme. We encourage artists and companies of Baltic countries to apply!
You have to be linked to an Exhibition Space in the Agora to be able to apply for the programme. “BALTIC DANCE” provides the opportunity for the artists to apply for the programme of the Tanzmesse. You can also book a Single Area, Shared Area or Networking Island yourself.
SHORT INFORMATION ABOUT APPLICATION PROCESS VIA “BALTIC DANCE”
Who can apply: Lithuanian, Estonian, and Latvian professional artists/companies residing in Baltic countries or outside the region, also foreign professional artists/companies residing in Baltic countries.
Deadline for submission: 15 September 2023!
Programme proposal options:
- PERFORMANCE (new production or repertory works: on stage; public space; digital/interactive);
- OPEN STUDIO (20-minute excerpts of an artistic work and a space for exchange with the audience: work in progress; ready-to-tour production);
- INSIGHT (for individual professionals or organizations: 20-minute media-based presentation followed by a Q&A session. To share outstanding project ideas, exceptional working structures or methods or good practices with international professionals).
Number of applications is not restricted.
Programme proposals can be submitted for a fee of € 25 (plus 7% VAT) for each artistic proposal. Administration fee can be paid via PayPal only.
Tanzmesse will pay a performance fee for all participants selected in the category Performance or Open Studio. Please note that the selected artists/companies have to raise additional funding to cover their travel and accommodation costs.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Step 1. Create a Tanzmesse account or log into your existing account. Here you can find the tutorial. Please note, you should use the same email address during whole application process.
Step 2. Contact the representative of your country, inform about your participation and provide this information:

First Name
E-Mail address (the same, as you used for a Tanzmesse account)
Step 3. Wait for a proposal invitation email by a Coordinator of “Baltic Dance” (Anastasia Kaminskė, projects@dance.lt), then click on the link in the invitation email.
Step 4. Once you have filled in your proposal form, you can save it and add your modifications until the final deadline: 15 September 2023. Don’t forget to hit the “Submit” button and to pay the proposal administration fees (25€ + VAT) via PayPal.
