Julija Mintautė began her bachelor’s studies in contemporary dance at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2015, taking part in a contest to select new members of the AURA dance theatre in 2016. In autumn of the same year, she started actively working with this theatre, being employed as a dancer-artist in November. 2017 saw her discontinuing her studies at the academy to devote all of her time to AURA, and to keep constantly improving as a professional contemporary dancer.
Her near-future plan with AURA is to focus on her technical, creative, and artistic skills to the fullest, learning a lot from visiting experts, and collaborating with an international team of performers as well as creators.
Further plans include getting back to her education, improving herself both as a performer and educator, starting her path as an independent creator, at the same time never forgetting to work in various teams of artists, becoming a member of the Lithuanian Contemporary Dance Association, and spreading the word about contemporary dance in the country and abroad.
