”Play-full” Repertoire Workshop

In this workshop we would be playing with different phrasing material to construct a whole new one towards the end of the course. The material have a goal to build up a physically strong body while constantly exploring how the movements of the spine relate to the rest of the body taken to its fullest. This is a workshop directed to professionals, It requires to have good knowledge of floor work and fast learning.

”FROM TWO TO ONE” Partnering Workshop

The main goal of this workshop is to explore how to create one moving body out of two. During the class.

We research how different kind of contact can change the dialogue between two bodies and explore tools to build a clear physical communication for common understanding of codes and goals.
we would work on different stages of an ancient weaponless fighting art where the approach of this material invites to a dance and find communication through a partner work, as well the vocabulary would be very useful at the moment to develop own material.

Biography

Fornier Ortiz is a freelance dancer and teacher, currently living in Helsinki.
He has done his first dance studies at the Ballet academy Incolballet in Colombia also has a postgraduate degree in modern dance from the Folkwang University of arts in Germany.
As a professional dancer he has worked with various choreographers in the field of contemporary dance in Colombia, Netherlands, Germany and Finland. During his career he has developed strong contemporary skills, high technique and physical creativity, developing his own vocabulary interested in Physicality in itself. As a guest teacher he taught at various European professional dance academies and European dance festivals.
