WORKSHOP “A BODY BEING DANCED” | Open level | Liza Beliasnaja

WORKSHOP ” A BODY BEING DANCED” | Open level

In the period of six days we will be looking at the notion of “learning” from multiple points of view. Learning dances in particular will be our focus. We will not engage in improvisation or/and “creativity” (as you understood from the topic), but rather analyzing experiences and becoming available for material to dance us. What strategies are being used in the moment of memorizing, appropriating physical information? How can one acknowledge and challenge ones habits in such tasks? This workshop/practice is not goal oriented, there is no objective task we will aim for. Its rather a subjective/personal experience that is at stake. We will learn dances, songs, beats, stories together/ individually, we will pass information, I will teach you some stuff, you will teach me some also. We will talk, discuss, write, paint, draw, sing, create magic share (or not), we will probably laugh and probably play some funky beats. What is at stake? Our agency, our personal experience in possessing knowledge and passing it. Our bodies that hold information which is there forever- clear and accessible.
