Each lesson will begin with a dynamic movement that stimulates body awareness, the discovery and breaking of body boundaries, the liberation of the imagination and its use for movement. The methods inspired by Gaga’s philosophy of movement will encourage the search for different textures of movement, rhythm, dynamics, strength levels. Exercises and combinations of movement will strengthen the body, help to discover its animalistic powers and to enter the last – choreographic part of the session. The detailed and specific language of the movement will encourage to discover and at the same time not to forget your own individuality and uniqueness. And then – party!
BIOGRAPHY
Contemporary dance dancer and creator Ieva Navickaitė was born in Kaunas in 1991. She graduated in contemporary dance and visual arts from the Idyllwild Arts Academy in California, USA. After graduation, Ieva worked with Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company in Israel, Aura Dance Theater in Lithuania, Cienfuegos Danza in Spain, Reut Shemesh Company in Germany, Jerome Meyer, Lillian Barbeito (Bodytraffic Company) in Los Angeles and other independent producers and choreographers. Ieva currently works in the Van Huynh company as a dancer and choreographer’s assistant, as well as teaches and creates her own work.
