The class will focus on finding an organic way of moving, whilst challenging technique and maximizing the range of movement of each individual. Guided improvisation will be used for warming up, allowing each person to connect individually with their mind and body. Embracing and connecting with movement and space. Class will follow with exercises to work on finding an effective way to release the body, an honest flow of energy through movement and a great connection with the floor.
Emphasis will be placed on finding your own physicality and personality through movement. Dancers will be encouraged to make the movement material work their own; be creative, take chances and push their limits.
BIOGRAPHY
Sara Colomino Gimenez graduated from Institut del Teatre Barcelona, Codarts Rotterdam and Alvin Ailey New York. She has worked with choreographers such as Jiri Kylian, Ohad Naharin, Regina Van Berkel, Jennifer Archibal, Jean Emile, Thang Dao, … in pieces from the contemporary repertoire and new creations. Currently freelancing in Spain, Sweden and Mexico, working and collaborating with different projects such as Martz Contemporary Dance Company, Ehrstrand Dance Collective and La Infinita Compañía. Currently creating new work ‘Piel de Naranja’ with her own collective. Professor at the Institute of the Arts Barcelona, as well as a guest teacher at acclaimed schools nationally and internationally. She has acted as a judge for different dance competitions such as the renowned Dance World Cup, Bucharest Dance Festival. Currently studying to become a Gyrotonic Trainer.
