Ten years after the publication of <\/span>\u0160ok\u0117jo ABC<\/span><\/i> (<\/span>The Dancer’s ABC<\/span><\/i>), the Lithuanian Dance\u00a0 Information Centre\u00a0 decided to update the\u00a0 information and adapt the\u00a0 publication\u00a0 not only to today’s\u00a0 rapidly-evolving\u00a0 context, but\u00a0 also\u00a0 for a\u00a0 wider\u00a0 audience. The\u00a0 updated\u00a0 publication <\/span>ABC Practical Advices and Insights for Artists<\/span><\/i>,\u00a0 including\u00a0 theory,\u00a0 practical\u00a0 advices and\u00a0 insights\u00a0 shared by the finest Lithuanian and\u00a0 foreign\u00a0 professionals, is intended not only for students, young professionals and cultural managers in the fields of dance and circus, but also in other performing arts as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our objective is to ease the creative and practical journey of every beginner in the performing arts, to introduce tools which one can apply for one’s own use. The publication will also be helpful to those wishing to refresh their memory and check their knowledge.<\/span><\/p>\n

The topics surveyed in the publication include creative practices as well as the basics of cultural management, which all beginning creative artists would do well to learn and know. <\/span><\/p>\n

We are pleased to be able to present texts authored specifically for this publication: the article \u201c\u0160okio k\u016brybinis procesas ir rezultatas\u201d (The Creative Process and Result of Dance) reviews the creative process and\u00a0 the\u00a0 dilemmas\u00a0 arising\u00a0 from\u00a0 it;\u00a0 a\u00a0 text\u00a0 analysing\u00a0 an\u00a0 area\u00a0 of\u00a0 ever-growing\u00a0 relevance,\u00a0 how\u00a0 to professionally introduce oneself and present one’s creative work to foreign professionals, \u201cYou never pitch alone!\u201d; an article presenting the fundamentals of public relations, \u201cI\u0161vaizdos ir turinio derinys \u2013 j\u016bs\u0173 vie\u0161ieji ry\u0161iai\u201d (A Combination of Image and Content: Your Public Relations). In other texts, one will find the basics of preparing project applications, the types of stipends and how to write requests for them, how to professionally prepare one’s CV, what one needs to know about intellectual property, use of music, and why it is important to attain official classification as artist. One can read the publication by selecting topics of particular interest or as a book from start to finish.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is also information about institutions of higher education operating in Lithuania and abroad. It is worth noting that we present only several of the foreign schools that are most important, in our opinion; there certainly are many more, and not only in Europe, but also in Asia, Canada and the USA.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

We of course look forward to your feedback and insights on what topics are not addressed and which topics deserve consideration in greater detail.<\/span><\/p>\n
