For that, the choreographers will be accompanied and guided by a <strong>dance dramaturg<\/strong> <strong>Thomas Schaupp.<\/strong> In this sense, this program wants to bring together and promote different artistic perspectives and ideas and thus help shape the Lithuanian dance scene of the future.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Accompanied by dance dramaturg Thomas Schaupp, the program offers a total of five young choreographers furthermore the opportunity to explore the relationship between dance and dramaturgy: dance dramaturgy is particularly suitable as a companion because it is a sensitive practice of contextualization and bridge-building between artistic creation and society, between artistic responsibility and co-creation, between artist and institution. It is a collaborative practice of listening and creating a trusting and secure foundation. It is a practice that encourages dialogue and strives for collaboration. And it is a practice of questioning and reorienting, of encouraging and communicating perspectives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The<\/strong> <strong>focus of this program<\/strong> is on respectful exchange and the mentees&#8217; questions and concerns.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Program Proposal:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A meeting with Thomas Schaupp during the NBD festival thon project development and implementation and other production-related topics. Furthermore, the artistic program of the festival will be attended and reflected upon together.<\/li>\n<li>Support from the mentor in the form of regular digital one-on-one meetings over the six-month program period.<\/li>\n<li>A final public meeting, digital and\/or analog, at the end of the program, in which the mentees will have the opportunity to present themselves and\/or their (future) projects.<\/li>\n<li>Access to a high-quality national and international network through the Lithuanian Dance Information Center and its other programs, such as the promotion of dance criticism.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Who can be a mentee?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Young professionals starting their careers in the field of choreography<\/li>\n<li>Those interested in dance with the aim of working in choreography<\/li>\n<li>Students at the end of their studies with the aim of working in choreography<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Prerequisites for the mentees:<\/strong> Several months of professional experience in the field of dance (internships, first creative projects, etc.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Proposed timeline:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Introductory meeting for selected candidates with the mentor during the New Baltic Dance festival on 16-17 of May 2025.<\/li>\n<li>Four digital one-on-one meetings between mentor and mentee between May and October 2025.<\/li>\n<li>Two joint digital meetings between mentor and mentees between July and September 2025.<\/li>\n<li>Final public event, digital or online at the end of October 2025, half a day.<\/li>\n<li>One one-on-one follow-up meeting between mentor and mentee in the period November 2025 to February 2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Language:\u00a0English<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>About the lecturer<\/strong>: Dance dramaturg and curator Thomas Schaupp, while studying art history in Berlin, joined Sasha Waltz &amp; Guests in 2010 during his first internship, and later deepened his dramaturgical practice at the National Dance Center in Bucharest. After his studies, Thomas immersed himself in practice and has been actively collaborating with choreographers both in Europe and beyond.
