The Lithuanian Dance Information Centre (LDIC) is pleased to announce an OPEN CALL for Lithuanian artists to participate in the Visiting Artists Programme (VAP)!
VAP is one of Europe’s largest international artist mobility initiatives, bringing together 23 partner organisations across Europe. The programme supports the professional development of emerging and mid-career dance artists, encourages creative exchange, and creates sustainable opportunities for international collaboration.
Through VAP, selected artists are invited to immerse themselves in the vibrant environment of leading European contemporary dance festivals. Participants get the opportunity to attend performances, workshops, discussions, and networking events, gaining deeper insight into international performing arts contexts and building connections with artists and professionals from across Europe.

For the 2026 edition, LDIC invites artists to take part in one of the following festivals (all activities will take place in English):
1) Albania Dance Meeting (Albania)

About the festival:
The Albania Dance Meeting-Festival is an annual dance festival in Albania. The first edition was held on Aril 2006 and edition after edition the event gradually grew to become one of the most important international Festival in Albania. It selects innovative and inspirational contemporary dance pieces, and informs as well about the refresh dance tendencies. The Albania Dance Meeting-Festival is intended to familiarize Albanian audience with various dance companies or independent dancers from abroad who develop contemporary dance techniques and innovative forms of dance expression. This event is an opportunity for its participants to exchange ideas and experiences of dance, which have been developed worldwide, as well as get acquainted with the development of contemporary dance in Albania and the region. It is a great event not only for dance professionals but also for the arts lovers from the whole country to get acquainted with the progressive and innovative world culture. The festival is focused on an informal education and work with the audience too. The atmosphere of openness, freedom and fruitful exchanges of views are valued above all by the young people who are the main target group of the festival. Another important group are the professionals – critics, publicists, directors of festivals, choreographers from Albania and the abroad. Partner to Airwaves and Moving Balkans, ADM Festival serves as a platform for cultural exchange within Europe, especially between the East Balkan and the West.
Artist profile:
The artist profile of Albania Dance Meeting focuses on contemporary dance choreographers and performers with a distinct artistic voice and experience in presenting original work. The festival brings together emerging and established artists who engage with contemporary and often experimental practices, with an openness to cultural dialogue, collaboration, and exchange. It particularly values works that carry a clear concept or perspective, sometimes connecting contemporary forms with local or traditional influences, within an international and socially engaged context.
2) Iridescent Festival (Romania)

About the festival:
This year, Iridescent – International Festival of Contemporary Dance and Other Reconfigurations of the Sensible reaches its 5th edition and emphasizes the transformative power of dance to bring new worlds into being. The festival was created with the belief that movement and the body are revolutionary tools, capable of building and imagining better futures. Through dance, we build bridges between spaces and worlds, fostering new ways of thinking and dialogue, opening paths for exploration and understanding, and discovering fresh perspectives on the world around us. The multiplicity of iridescences within ever-changing realities is reflected in the coherence and evolution of each edition.
The festival programme brings together:
- Significant international and national productions relevant to today’s artistic and socio-political contexts
- The latest creations by Romanian choreographers and dancers
- Workshops and conferences -Exhibitions and film screenings
- A marathon of talks titled Ideas for Planet Earth, featuring speakers from various fields — artists, activists, philosophy professors, scientists, doctors, students, and more.
Artist profile:
We are looking for artists with at least three completed works in contemporary dance and performance. Also, artists interested in sharing their artistic practice.
Open call: Financial support
LDIC will cover travel, accommodation, and an artist fee for participation in the programme. The exact amount of support will be agreed individually with the selected artists according to the costs related to each destination.
