Dancer, choreographer, educator Vytis Jankauskas is one of the most known Lithuanian artists of contemporary dance.
During his teenage years, he was among the first ones to start breakdancing in Lithuania.
In 1997, he founded the Vytis Jankauskas dance theatre – this was a place for him to realise his creative visions and implement ideas. The choreographer has created 13 one-act performances for the troupe; these works were shown in Lithuania and abroad, becoming an essential part of the history of Lithuanian contemporary dance.

Awards
Lithuanian Theatre Award “Golden Stage Cross”
- Dance performance “Nuskendęs slėnis“ [“Drowned valley”] for the best choreography and music of 2003-2004.
- Dance performance “Budėjimai“ [“Standbys”] for the best choreography of 2008-2009.
Along with his fellow teammates, Vytis became the champion of the breakdancing championship of the whole Soviet Union. The contest took place in Tallinn, Estonia in 1987.
